The Moon, Poetry and all that Jazz

We are delighted to announce that Pale Fire, an anthology of new lunar poetry by more than sixty writers, illustrated by Fergus Hare, is now published.
It can be ordered directly from The Frogmore Press, 21 Mildmay Road, Lewes, BN7 1PJ. £10 + £2 for postage and packaging in the UK, at cost to other destinations. Email orders: Alexbythesea@hotmail.com .  You may also purchase it at Skylark in Lewes or Much Ado Books in Alfriston, East Sussex.
The launch on 9 June 2019 at Fitzroy House in Lewes is now fully booked, but there will be other exciting things happening on the same day:

Moongazing, an exhibition of Moon art, curated by Sarah O’Kane, at Fitzroy House, including work by Fergus Hare.

Painters, printmakers and sculptors are exhibiting artworks for this stunning show, many specially-commissioned. A range of artists including Julian Bell, Peter Messer, Fergus Hare, Flora McLachlan and Charlotte Snook were asked to create work expressing different aspects of the moon: urban moon, childhood moon, magical moon, tidal moon, nocturnal animals and mythological moon are some of the themes developed by the participating artists.

An illustrated talk about the Moon in art and science by editor Alexandra Loske and astronomer Robert Massey from the Royal Astronomical Society. They recently published Moon – Art, Science, Culture (Octopus, 2018).
2.30pm, Fitzroy House.  For places email sarah@sarahokane.co.uk.
Entry fee: £3 (please bring along on the day).
